[VentureSquare] Deep Plant Selected for Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Tech Startup Support Program 'TIPS'

Deep Plant, which operates 'Delicimeat' with its meat data analysis system using "deep aging" technology, announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the Tech Incubator Program for Startup (TIPS), a tech startup support program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, becoming the first startup in the meat industry to do so.

TIPS is the government's flagship 'private investment-led tech startup support program' that selects and nurtures startups that have secured investment from private investors and possess technology items poised to lead the global market.

Deep Plant was selected after receiving investment and a recommendation in 2022 from CNT Tech, a TIPS managing partner. Through this selection, Deep Plant will secure 500 million KRW in research and development funds over two years.

So far, Deep Plant has been collecting and analyzing meat data, then processing it with deep aging to enhance the natural protein flavor of low-grade and non-preferred cuts of meat. The company supplies these products to distributors and restaurants, gradually expanding its market, and also sells directly to consumers through its own online shopping mall. Through the TIPS program, the company plans to collect more sophisticated meat data and develop technology to predict taste and tenderness by analyzing it with image-based artificial intelligence.

Deep Plant CEO Kim Cheol-beom stated, "Through this TIPS program, we aim to enable consumers to choose and healthily consume meat that suits their personal tastes." He added, "We will continue to strive to broaden the livestock environment and the meat consumption market by achieving a balance between the production environment and the consumer market through 'complete consumption,' where all parts of the meat currently being produced—not just the preferred cuts—are consumed."
