[Platum] Deep Plant and Hoengseong Hanwoo Join Hands for Digital Industrialization

Hoengseong KC and Deep Plant have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on the digital industrialization of the livestock industry using data-based technology.

Hoengseong KC is the only entity in Hoengseong County that directly operates a cattle-exclusive slaughterhouse and processing plant. Hanwoo (Korean beef) raised in the Hoengseong region must be slaughtered and processed here to receive the Hoengseong Hanwoo Quality Certification. Currently, the Hoengseong KC slaughterhouse is building a computerized system to manage the individual history of each animal through the Hoengseong Hanwoo Quality Certification System, from the arrival of the live cattle to the shipment from the processing plant.

Deep Plant is a company leading the datafication of the livestock industry. With its self-developed "Deep Aging" system and meat data collected through research, the company applies optimal aging conditions for each type and cut of meat. By aging and processing meat in this way, it improves the added value and preference for low-grade and non-preferred cuts, promoting balanced meat consumption and creating a healthy livestock environment.

Through this business agreement, Hoengseong KC and Deep Plant aim to establish the digital industrialization of the livestock sector. The plan is to lead the next-generation livestock industry by leveraging each company's technology and expertise to advance the industry and establish data standards. In particular, they aim to present a new direction that benefits livestock farmers and the industry by developing technology and building data to increase carcass yield through the advanced digitalization of the entire slaughtering process, from the slaughter stage to the pre-chilling room.

Hoengseong KC CEO Jeon Won-seok stated, "Although we have built a more advanced computerized system compared to other facilities, we expect that by supplementing its shortcomings and proceeding with advancement, and by managing it with a one-step system, we will be able to present a new standard for the livestock industry in line with the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution."

Deep Plant CEO Kim Cheol-beom stated, "Through this agreement, we aim for more rapid and accurate livestock product management by applying Deep Plant's unique data accumulation, analysis, and aging processing technology to Hoengseong KC's production site to collect and provide necessary data for slaughter and processing." He added, "We expect that by further advancing the system in the future, we can maintain the quality of meat from slaughter to processing and manage it all under a single system up to the post-processing aging stage, allowing for the application of next-generation technology needed in the livestock industry."
