Deep.Plant (CEO Kim Cheol-beom) participated in the 2025 Agri-Food Tech Startup Fair (AFPRO 2025), held for three days from Wednesday, July 16, to Friday, July 18, at COEX Hall C in Seoul.


Operating under the motto 'Food as pure and close to nature as plants,' Deep.Plant is a food-tech company that researches and manufactures senior-friendly foods and sustainable processed meat products. The company is gaining significant attention for its unique 'Deep-Aging' technology, which revitalizes low-grade and less-preferred cuts of meat—often overlooked in the traditional livestock market—using natural seasonings and innovative techniques.


A key strength is its 'Senior-Friendly Food Certification,' earned for its technology that improves texture using only natural ingredients and physical processes, without unnecessary chemical additives. The technology is highly regarded not only for creating a tender texture but also for considering protein absorption and nutritional efficiency.


At the 2025 Agri-Food Tech Startup Fair, Deep.Plant presented a new alternative for seniors, single-person households, and consumers seeking high-protein diets, centered around its 'Deep-Aging Hanwoo Handon Bulgogi.' The bulgogi, sampled at the event, drew significant interest from visitors, who praised it for being "easy to chew yet full of rich meat flavor."


The 'Deep-Aging Hanwoo Handon Bulgogi' is Deep.Plant's flagship product, a ready-to-cook frozen meal made from low-grade Hanwoo (Korean beef) and Handon (Korean pork), which are typically underutilized due to their low-fat content. Its main feature is the use of natural plant-based ingredients and a patent-pending physical tenderizing technology, avoiding chemical tenderizers, to soften the meat while preserving its original taste and texture.



The product can be easily cooked from frozen and is particularly suitable for middle-aged and elderly individuals due to its high protein and low-fat content. It has officially been certified as a 'Senior-Friendly Food' by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, verifying both its nutritional value and safety. This also makes it an attractive option for the health-conscious MZ generation.


A Deep.Plant official stated, "Participating in this fair was meaningful as we could meet many consumers who share our concerns about sustainability and social value in meat consumption. Moving forward, we plan to expand our product lineup based on deep-aging technology to more widely distribute high-protein, healthy foods that everyone can easily enjoy."


Meanwhile, AFPRO 2025 serves as a comprehensive exhibition for promising agri-food startups, featuring programs for investors, buyers, and researchers such as briefings on state-owned patent transfers, demo days, IR pitching, and product evaluations. It also facilitates tangible results for startups by providing 1:1 meeting opportunities with investors and buyers. The exhibition includes startups from the following sectors:

  • Ag-Tech (Smart Agriculture): Smart farm systems, big data, AI cloud, automated/unmanned equipment (harvesting robots, automatic control, etc.).

  • Food-Tech: Alternative foods, customized/specialty foods, convenience meals, production processes, and retail/delivery/dining services (cooking/serving robots, etc.).
