Assemblyman Myung Jae-sung: "The Climate Tech Industry is a Necessity, Not a Choice," Emphasizes Support for Foundation Building and Vitalization

On September 16, Myung Jae-sung, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly's Urban Environment Committee, attended the '2025 Gyeonggi Province Climate Tech Designation Certificate Award Ceremony' held at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2, Hall 6C, in Goyang. He encouraged the designated climate tech companies and personally visited the booth of Goyang's representative company, Deep.Plant, to meet with CEO Kim Cheol-beom and offer a message of support.

The award ceremony was part of an effort to respond to the climate crisis and invigorate eco-friendly industries. Gyeonggi Province designated and awarded certificates to 33 startups and 10 promising climate tech companies for 2025. Assemblyman Myung Jae-sung emphasized, "The climate tech industry is now a necessity, not a choice, and the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly will actively support the advancement of related companies."

Furthermore, Assemblyman Myung showed deep interest when he visited the exhibition booth of Goyang's climate tech startup, 'Deep.Plant,' where he met directly with CEO Kim Cheol-beom to hear about the company's core technology and vision. Deep.Plant was designated as the top prize-winning company, recognized for its technology that contributes to food waste reduction and sustainable food consumption by developing 'Deep-aging,' an AI-based meat analysis equipment.

"I am very proud to see such an excellent climate tech company with outstanding technology being born and growing within the Goyang region," said Assemblyman Myung. "I will not spare any policy or institutional support to help climate tech companies in Goyang, including Deep.Plant, leap into the global market."

The event was co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province, the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Agency, and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. It became a meaningful occasion to confirm the potential of South Korea's climate industry, with attendees including participants from the World Congress of Local Governments for Sustainability and officials from various related organizations.
